Our Cognitive Development Programmes
Music Minds offers scientifically proven brain stimulation programmes designed specifically for the South African context. Our curriculum is a coherent development plan that grows with your child from birth until the age of nine.
1. In the Class (Pre-School)
Our pre-school programme is divided into specific age groups to ensure that stimulation is always developmentally appropriate. Each level gradually increases in complexity to build a sound foundation for physical, mental, and social skills.
- Age Groups: Classes are specifically designed for babies (0–1) and children aged 1–2, 2–3, 3–4, and 4–5.
- Core Development Areas: Every lesson includes focused steps to improve:
- Speaking & Language: Enhancing vocabulary and communication.
- Motor Skills: Developing both fine and gross motor coordination.
- Listening & Visual Skills: Improving auditory processing and eye movement.
- Tactile Development: Exploring textures to prepare for future writing skills.
2. In the School (Grades R–3)
Due to popular demand, we have extended our curriculum into the Foundation Phase. These classes are geared toward school-going children to ensure they remain “brain fit” and ready for academic challenges.
- Academic Integration: We focus on cognitive, mathematical, sensory, and motor abilities.
- School Readiness: Our higher-level activities foster motivation, self-regulation, and advanced problem-solving.
- Bilingual Content: Lessons are presented in both English and Afrikaans, utilizing local rhymes and songs.
3. In the Studio (Licensed Independent Educators)
For licensed Music Minds educators who operate independently, we offer a Studio programme.
- Flexible Structure: This programme includes all elements of our school and pre-school curricula.
- Mixed-Age Classes: It provides the unique ability to combine children of different ages into a single, cohesive session.
